Training at a Northern Freestyle Karate Association club
Push yourself further at any of our friendly clubs with a wide range of experiences and ages
We practice a sporting style of karate with emphasis on freedom of movement and incorporating the best of traditional and modern systems. Emphasis is placed on the quality of instruction, producing well disciplined and technically excellent students. Karate is an activity that the whole family can participate in, and family participation is well catered for within the N.F.K.A.
Is Karate For Me?
We teach Karate in a friendly and safe atmosphere, everyone was once a beginner including your Instructor.
We accept children from about 5 years old, from 4 years old in our little Ninja's classes (depending willingness to learn) in our adult classes we usually have members with a wide range of ages, male and female, from teenagers to those in their forties and fifties!

All we ask is for a reasonable standard of fitness and a willingness to learn in a friendly but disciplined environment.
If you have not been involved with any energetic activities for some time or have had health problems in the past which may cause concern please consult one of the instructors or your doctor before commencing training.
Ages between 5 and 13 usually train in the junior class with everyone else training in the senior class. In fact we actively encourage parents to join in with their children and have many family groups that regularly train together.

The atmosphere in our classes is nothing short of electric and most people are extremely impressed on their first visit to the class. It is this atmosphere and environment which attracts so many students to this form of Free-style Karate.

Karate is a great way of exorcising the stress of work, as well as a great way of exercising.
